Message Commercials
A message commercial or a ethical commercial is one that is sending a message or informing a group of people about a problem, or risk. What I would like you to do is to create a commerical informing a grouop of people or explaining a risk. Some of these examples include: litering, effects of smoking, say no to drugs, anti-bullying, and not playing with matches. Please take time in choosing your topic and it must be cleared by me.

Commercials
A commerical is a communication tool which allows people to see a product, service or message of some kind. The goal is to keep the attention of the viewer long enough to get a message across and have them vest some kind of interest. These commericals are engaging and some will last a long time in your mind.
Some focus on key elements such as drama, humor, and excitment.
Look at these examples from the past to get ideas. This week everyone will post. I am seeing that you all have time to do this, so I will begin to increase the work load. You are all responsible for posting a post on 2 groups videos, then you must reply to 2 posts from either your video or another, lastly you will have to answer each question below and re-post to another student in class. I expect 3 re-posts for this section.

From the videos above which do you think is one that is coming across with a message awareness?
Why do you think this?
Go to you tube and find your favorite commerical, then share the url: with us and explain why this is one of your favorites? What about this commerical captured your attention?
Now think of a commerical that was horrible? Find it on you tube as well and post it. Be sure to explain why you felt this way and what the url is as well.

Creating your own movie trailer
When creating your own movie trail as the speaker said last week the the hardest part is to come up with an idea and stick with it. Discuss in your investigation section what type of movie you would like to do. By this I mean do you want to do a comedy, suspense, horror, mystery, adventure, drama, and romance. You may want to research these types of films to get a better understanding of the categories of films.
Below I have a sample of a film that I have done.
1. What type of movie do you like? Please explain?
2. What type of movie did you and your team decide on? Do you all agree on this because of similarities or because of the vote you took?
3. How would you rate the movie you are making? In other-words, is it a comedy, suspense, horror, mystery, adventure, drama, and romance?

Creating a Movie Trailer From Current or up and coming Films
Your key to creating a movie trailer is keeping your audience on the edge. What does this mean "on the edge?"
On the edge refers to bringing the audience into the film clip and showing them bits and peaces. These include: humor, horror, action, suspense, and romance. Remember a trailer is just a taste for the entire movie. Not showing the entire movie is the goal. In the video below he will discuss what you should do when filming your trailer
Here are some examples of trailers:
Answer the following questions, please remember to place first name only. Answers all 4 questions and reply to 2 people on any question they answer. This will give you a total of 6 posts for the question part.
1. In the first video example he discusses hooking the viewer. What are the hooks he mentions? Can you think of anymore hooks that you may have seen as you watch the trailers above.
2. What movie trailer above captures your attention? Explain why in detail. Give at least 3 examples.
3. What movie trailer above captures your attention the least? Explain why in detail. Give at least 3 examples.
4. Do you think any of these trailers give away too much of the movie? If so which one and explain. If not, why and explain.

Below is a sample video of what a person did by making the viewer believe that their was a movie coming out soon. They used scenes from the film to do this. In oder for your project to come out well you will need to focus on your editing skills. Be sure to reference your video at the end like this,

Respect Video
Is an important part of your daily life. Showing respect for yourself, things, and others is a good way to live. This type of act or behavior may seem invisible, but it is the invisible gift that can bring smiles with no spoken words or it can bring tears of pain when used poorly. Watch the videos below to get ideas. You may use a white board as they use in the one video or puppets. Look at the questions that follow the movie and answer them.
1. After watching the video on respect entitled "Gamshow" why do you think that this is for students who are of middle school and older level?
2. Do you think giving examples of how not to act followed by an example of how to act will get the message delivered? In other words, will your viewers understand that you are trying to express respect and not disrespect by watching a video done this way. Please explain your thoughts.
3. Did the respect video using the whiteboard serve its purpose in addressing the correct audience? Was this age appropriate? In preparing for your video on respect, what creative ideas do you think would work for students 5-9? What about students 10-14? or 15-18? How can you grasp the attention of your intended viewer?
4. The last question discussed audience, what is equally important is the film producer as well (you)! You have to feel excited about your project. If you don't, the energy will not show up in your quality. Place down 5 ideas that you have for your respect video and why.
