1. Is Sam typical of kids in your community? Why, or why not?
2. Sam spends a lot of time on the computer, but she also enjoys a lot of other activities as well. Do you think she leads a balanced life?
3. What do you think of how Sam uses her iPod to read her books aloud? Is this a good way to read or to learn new content?
4. Sam's parents and teachers are very supportive of the way she creatively uses technology in her schoolwork. How can you support the students in your life to help them creatively express themselves with digital tools?
5. Does it surprise you that Sam is learning teamwork and problem-solving skills through games? Why, or why not?
this video is educational and shows how people can think that the digital media is there second life and that people can learn so much from the internet and electronics. When she says that she copied notes for the piano from the computer that really shows that people can be taught anything with the power of the internet. - Red team

ReplyDelete1)I don't think Sam is a typical kid because she spends a lot of time trying to figure out how new technology works and most kids are to lazy to do this.
2)Yes I think she lives a balanced life because even tho she spends a lot of time on the computer she still has friends, plays in a band and helps out people on the computer.
3)No I don't think that's a good way to get info because she actually needs to read the book to practice for later on in life.
4)I could tell them that they are doing a good job and I could help them do whatever they need help with.
5)Yes because it's a video game and she she is not experiencing teamwork first hand so she doesn't learn anything in real life.
Sam isn't the typical kid in my community with being smart with technology. But I know people who do things like texting like her. I think she spends most of her time inside and needs to spend a little more time outside. I think it is good for technology to read for you so that you can be multitasking. It's a very cool way of learning. You can teach kids to use technology be making something awesome and showing the how you made it. I am suprised that games can make you use helpful skills because most games are about destruction war, and some social.

2. I say yes that she lives a balance life. I say this because she does have friends to be with and that she does other activities as well to enjoy life.
3. No because I say reading it are self would be better understanding and a faster way of reading it are self.
4. I can help students in my life by using technology by saying that most technology helps us out in many things with out it we wont have things to look up for projects.

I think that because she spends a lot of time learning about new technology and most kids these days are to lazy or are not motivated to learn about that. Also I think she isn't a normal kid because she spends about 12 hours on the computer everyday when she doesn't have school.
I agree with Brandon C. because she doesn't have a normal life she is so busy on the computer doing technology. She needs to at least lay off for awhile don't you guys agree?? Also that she does have a balance life because she has friends and all.

3)not a good way because you wont know what the words look like so if she every read a book by her self she would not know what the word is.
4)it can help if you are on vacation some were you can still get hold of your teacher and friends if you need help with some work of yours.
5)no its easy to learn what to do in games, the game she plays helps because there huge bosses that you need to beat with teamwork.

Sam is not a typical kid because she is more advanced in technology.yes i think Sam does lead a balanced life. It can be a good way to read if that is easier for her if she doesn't understand the books when she reads them then this is a good way. I think that digital tools are what make us what we are today. no because alot of games teach that now.

Christian: 1: Sam is not a typical kid in our community. She is not a typical kid because she know much more about technology then most other may know. 2: I feel that Sam needs to get out more and learn about the real world with out this experience she will think the world is all about electronics. 3: I think that having your ipod read books allowed is a very cool thing. Except that then the kid will never learn how to read fast and fluently so she should use less of ipod for reading. 4: For those kids who love to stay inside and use technology for daily life i could support them by telling them what they do is very cool and unique instead of putting them down. 5: Yes i am impressed that video games can teach you these skills. It is a very unique thing games teaching you life skills.

I agree with you Adam she is no where near being a normal kid. She definitely needs to lay off the electronics and get outside some more. I also agree that it will cost a lot of money in the long run.
